Early Construction Experience
My journey in construction began around 25 years ago while I attended URI. During that time, I worked for a general contractor who was developing a 25-house custom subdivision. As his assistant, my role involved various tasks each day. This experience provided invaluable learning about all phases of the construction process, from initial lot clearing to the final closing and beyond. I was fortunate to have this opportunity and learn so much about home construction from a great mentor.
Launching Decks Forever LLC
This foundational experience inspired me to market and open my first small business, Decks Forever LLC. Initially, our services focused on washing and staining existing decks. Quickly, we expanded to two working crews. It soon became clear that a significant demand existed for deck construction, particularly for ocean-front second homes and beach houses.
Expanding into Custom Deck Building
Consequently, I added a building crew to the business. We specialized in designing and constructing custom decks using various exotic materials. While my primary role involved project oversight, I also enjoyed the hands-on work whenever possible. Although I thoroughly enjoyed running this business, an appealing offer led to my decision to sell the company.
A Shift to Education and Continued Passion for Home Improvement
Following the sale, I transitioned into a different career, teaching Physics and Chemistry to young students, which I find very rewarding. However, my passion for home improvement has continued through the years. I have actively participated in and planned numerous home improvement projects on my own properties.
Forming Platinum Construction LLC
Most notably, I served as the General Contractor for a major home remodel and upgrade on my own property. It was during this significant project that I had the good fortune to partner with a long-time friend and construction expert, Pete Paradiso. Together, we formed Platinum Construction LLC. In this venture, I oversee all materials, vendors, and general business operations, while Pete manages the job sites, serves as the main finish carpenter, tackles problem-solving, and ensures quality control. We are excited to offer you, our valued customers, the true Platinum Experience.

Early Introduction to the Construction Industry
My involvement in the construction business began several years before I even graduated from high school. In 1995, I worked for our family-run, residential heating company. It was there that my father instilled in me the valuable principles of hard work and dedication. I dedicated my nights, weekends, and summers to this work until graduation, after which I joined our family-owned construction business full time.
Expanding Skills in Framing
In 2002, a friend, recognizing my strong work ethic and my ability to quickly grasp construction skills, offered me a position in his framing contractor company. For a few years, I worked with him, gaining experience not only in framing but also in various other construction projects within the subdivision where we were framing new homes. That period ultimately led to my decision to establish my own construction framing company.
Adapting to Market Changes and Diversifying Expertise
When the housing market experienced a slowdown in 2009, I made the strategic decision to sell my framing company and transition to a commercial/residential roofing company. There, I advanced to the position of foreman. During the winter months, I also worked as a finish carpenter in expansive 4000 sq ft homes. Additionally, I undertook a wide array of construction-related side projects and personal endeavors.

Throughout my career, I have been involved in more remodels and new home builds than I can easily count. Now, I bring these extensive years of experience to Platinum Construction.
